WNYO (FM)
WNYO is a radio station broadcasting from the State University of New York at Oswego in the City of Oswego, New York.[1][2] Broadcasting from the heart of SUNY Oswego at the campus center, The station is run entirely by SUNY Oswego students. Although a few members of the Oswego faculty have their own shows. WNYO broadcasts music of almost any genre (although the station has attempted to winnow down the music played to four categories: Indie, loud rock, Hip-Hop, and RPM) to the entire campus and the surrounding city on 88.9FM. Those outside the city of Oswego can go on the WNYO website and click the Internet feed option to listen anywhere in the world. WNYO has been increasing its presence in the digital media medium with a presence on Facebook as well as Twitter. [3]
WNYO also broadcasts Oswego State Lakers sporting events live on 88.9FM for the City of Oswego and on the internet on their webcast The sports department launched their own blog in the summer of 2007 at WNYOsports.com. WNYO also competes in an annual softball game for the "golden pitcher" with on-campus television station, WTOP 10.[4]
